Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Red Bull by Danh Vō was sold in the Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 3,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 3,375,000.00 (€ 385,757.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Danh Vō - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work VJ Star, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 602,500.00 (€ 842,747.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Red Bull von Danh Vō wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 3.000.000,00 – 5.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 3.375.000,00 (€ 385.757,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Danh Vō mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit VJ Star beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 602.500,00 (€ 842.747,01) versteigert wurde.
