Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Dana Frankfort achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in March 2009. In the Saturday@Phillips auction, the work Space Between Paintings sold for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,717.78) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dana Frankfort - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Despair, which sold at auction in May 2007 for USD 15,600.00 (€ 11,595.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dana Frankfort erzielte im März 2009 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Saturday@Phillips wurde die Arbeit Space Between Paintings für GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.717,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Dana Frankfort mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Despair beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für USD 15.600,00 (€ 11.595,93) versteigert wurde.
