Auction result well in line with expectations
In December this year Bonhams in London held the auction The Age of SpeedThe Grosvenor School and the Avant-garde, which included the work The Merry-Go-Round by Cyril Power. It changed hands for a price of GBP 23,040.00 (€ 26,541.20) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cyril Power - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Whence & Whither? (C. Cep 14), which sold at auction in March 2015 for GBP 68,750.00 (€ 95,050.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Age of SpeedThe Grosvenor School and the Avant-garde durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Merry-Go-Round von Cyril Power zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 23.040,00 (€ 26.541,20) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Cyril Power mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Whence & Whither? (C. Cep 14) beobachtet, die im März 2015 für GBP 68.750,00 (€ 95.050,51) versteigert wurde.
