In March this year a collector was able to acquire the work Yosemite Falls, California, USA; South Bronx Housing Projects, New York, USA; Central Park Falls, New York, USA from the series Geographical Analogies by Cyprien Gaillard for USD 3,810.00 (€ 3,504.42). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art: Online Auction at Phillips and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cyprien Gaillard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 193,750.00 (€ 183,440.64).
