Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Gaeta) by Cy Twombly was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2010. The price achieved of GBP 2,505,250.00 (€ 3,046,617.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cy Twombly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (New York City) in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 70,530,000.00 (€ 66,777,125.54).

Die Arbeit Untitled (Gaeta) von Cy Twombly kam im Juni 2010 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.505.250,00 (€ 3.046.617,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cy Twombly erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (New York City) im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 70.530.000,00 (€ 66.777.125,54).
