Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Morning Glow by Cui Ruzhuo was auctioned at Christies in New York in August this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 40,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 25,200.00 (€ 2,964.30). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cui Ruzhuo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand Snowing Mountains in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 306,800,000.00 (€ 34,565,614.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Morning Glow von Cui Ruzhuo im August diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 25.200,00 (€ 2.964,30) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cui Ruzhuo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand Snowing Mountains im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 306.800.000,00 (€ 34.565.614,89).
