In November 2019 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Internet Bar by Cui Jie. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 275,000.00 (€ 31,894.91), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Cui Jie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kunming Long-distance Telecom Hub Building in May this year with an auction result of HKD 1,197,000.00 (€ 143,473.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Internet Bar von Cui Jie zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 275.000,00 (€ 31.894,91) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cui Jie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kunming Long-distance Telecom Hub Building im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.197.000,00 (€ 143.473,72).
