Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Wall Surrounding The Factory by Cui Guotai was sold in the Contemporary Chinese Art II auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 62,500.00 (€ 5,150.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cui Guotai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Top Mountain, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 24,000.00 (€ 17,945.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Wall Surrounding The Factory von Cui Guotai wurde im April 2008 in der Auktion Contemporary Chinese Art II bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 62.500,00 (€ 5.150,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Cui Guotai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Top Mountain beobachtet, die im März 2007 für USD 24.000,00 (€ 17.945,27) versteigert wurde.
