Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Devils Bridge, North Wales by Cornelius Varley for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,017.90). This price was achieved in the auction An Exceptional Eye: A Private British Collection at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Cornelius Varley have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2010 by the work Hampstead Heath at GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,775.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2010 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Devils Bridge, North Wales von Cornelius Varley für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.017,90) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion An Exceptional Eye: A Private British Collection bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 20.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Cornelius Varley wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juli 2010 die Arbeit Hampstead Heath mit GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.775,37).
