This artwork by Cornelis van der Voort achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2015. In the Master Paintings auction, the work Portrait Of A Bearded Gentleman, Three Quarter Length, Wearing A Ruff sold for USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,068.32) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cornelis van der Voort have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a black vlieger brocade gown, with an elongated embroidered stomacher, lace-trimmed cuffs and a cartwheel ruff trimmed with reticella lace in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 242,500.00 (€ 288,142.46).

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cornelis van der Voort auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a black vlieger brocade gown, with an elongated embroidered stomacher, lace-trimmed cuffs and a cartwheel ruff trimmed with reticella lace im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 242.500,00 (€ 288.142,46).
