Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Portrait Of A Nobleman, Possibly Dudley Carleton, 1St Viscount Dorchester (1573–1632) by Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 26,802.93). Admittedly, works by Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Lady Corbett, Half-Length, In A Black Dress Adorned With Pink Rosettes And A Reticella Lace Collar, Cartwheel Ruff And Headdress, In A Feigned Oval in April 2016 with an auction result of GBP 158,500.00 (€ 202,610.13).

Im Juli 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Nobleman, Possibly Dudley Carleton, 1St Viscount Dorchester (1573–1632) von Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 21.250,00 (€ 26.802,93) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Lady Corbett, Half-Length, In A Black Dress Adorned With Pink Rosettes And A Reticella Lace Collar, Cartwheel Ruff And Headdress, In A Feigned Oval im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 158.500,00 (€ 202.610,13).
