Auction result misses estimated price range
In December last year a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of a gentleman, bust-length, in armour by Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen for GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,224.17). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Lady Corbett, Half-Length, In A Black Dress Adorned With Pink Rosettes And A Reticella Lace Collar, Cartwheel Ruff And Headdress, In A Feigned Oval in April 2016 with an auction result of GBP 158,500.00 (€ 202,610.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, bust-length, in armour von Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen für GBP 12.600,00 (€ 14.224,17) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen erzielen.
