Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of A Lady, Half Length by Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen for USD 17,500.00 (€ 16,212.71). This price was achieved in the auction Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Lady Corbett, Half-Length, In A Black Dress Adorned With Pink Rosettes And A Reticella Lace Collar, Cartwheel Ruff And Headdress, In A Feigned Oval in April 2016 with an auction result of GBP 158,500.00 (€ 202,610.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
