In July 2018 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a black coat and cloak; and Portrait of a lady, half-length, in a black gown and a lace-trimmed flat collar and cuffs by Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen. The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,818.30) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Lady Corbett, Half-Length, In A Black Dress Adorned With Pink Rosettes And A Reticella Lace Collar, Cartwheel Ruff And Headdress, In A Feigned Oval in April 2016 with an auction result of GBP 158,500.00 (€ 202,610.13).

Im Juli 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a black coat and cloak; and Portrait of a lady, half-length, in a black gown and a lace-trimmed flat collar and cuffs von Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.818,30) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen erzielen.
