In July 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Half Length, Dressed In Black, Holding A Pair Of Tan Gloves by Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 20,000.00 (€ 28,353.28), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Lady Corbett, Half-Length, In A Black Dress Adorned With Pink Rosettes And A Reticella Lace Collar, Cartwheel Ruff And Headdress, In A Feigned Oval in April 2016 with an auction result of GBP 158,500.00 (€ 202,610.13).

Im Juli 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman, Half Length, Dressed In Black, Holding A Pair Of Tan Gloves von Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 28.353,28) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Lady Corbett, Half-Length, In A Black Dress Adorned With Pink Rosettes And A Reticella Lace Collar, Cartwheel Ruff And Headdress, In A Feigned Oval im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 158.500,00 (€ 202.610,13).
