Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Lamentation, after Taddeo Zuccaro by Cornelis Cort was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 705.00 (€ 1,151.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis Cort - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Der heilige Hieronymus, von drei Engeln gestützt., which sold at auction in April 2013 for EUR 2,750.00.
