Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in February 2013. In the Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work The Choice Between Young And Old sold for USD 410,500.00 (€ 313,861.92) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hercules And Achelous in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 8,105,000.00 (€ 5,206,192.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem erzielte im Februar 2013 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture wurde die Arbeit The Choice Between Young And Old für USD 410.500,00 (€ 313.861,92) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hercules And Achelous im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.105.000,00 (€ 5.206.192,19).
