This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters Part II at Christies and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hercules And Achelous in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 8,105,000.00 (€ 5,206,192.19).
