Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Depravity Of Mankind Before The Flood by Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2018. The price achieved of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 77,083.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hercules And Achelous in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 8,105,000.00 (€ 5,206,192.19).
