Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Venus and Cupid in a landscape by Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem was sold in the Master Paintings Part II auction at Sothebys in New York in January last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 52,920.00 (€ 47,199.43). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hercules And Achelous in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 8,105,000.00 (€ 5,206,192.19).
