Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work A Trompe L'Œil Still Life With Two Grouse Hanging From A Nail by Cornelis Biltius. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 10,184.64) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cornelis Biltius have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Pair Of Trompe L'Œil Game Larder Still Lifes: With A Hare, Partridge, Snipe, Turkey, Pike, Eel And Fish, With A Parrot; And With Pigeons, A Hare, Calf'S Head, Asparagus, Lobster And Trout, With A Hawk And A Plover in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 70,912.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Trompe L'Œil Still Life With Two Grouse Hanging From A Nail von Cornelis Biltius zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 10.184,64) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cornelis Biltius auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Pair Of Trompe L'Œil Game Larder Still Lifes: With A Hare, Partridge, Snipe, Turkey, Pike, Eel And Fish, With A Parrot; And With Pigeons, A Hare, Calf'S Head, Asparagus, Lobster And Trout, With A Hawk And A Plover im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 70.912,98).
