Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2003 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work View of Wiseman's Road, New South Wales by Conrad Martens. The price achieved of AUD 58,750.00 (€ 34,706.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Conrad Martens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ausa Campbell'S Wharf in May 2009 with an auction result of AUD 576,000.00 (€ 325,921.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2003 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit View of Wiseman's Road, New South Wales von Conrad Martens zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 58.750,00 (€ 34.706,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Conrad Martens auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ausa Campbell'S Wharf im Mai 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 576.000,00 (€ 325.921,56).
