Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Canterbury House, The Seat of Mr Arthur Jeffries: Garden Vista by Conrad Martens was sold in the Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II auction at Christies in Melbourne in April 2006. The price achieved of AUD 45,410.00 (€ 27,312.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Conrad Martens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ausa Campbell'S Wharf in May 2009 with an auction result of AUD 576,000.00 (€ 325,921.56).
