Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian aview Of A Homestead by Conrad Martens was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 40,800.00 (€ 23,816.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Conrad Martens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ausa Campbell'S Wharf in May 2009 with an auction result of AUD 576,000.00 (€ 325,921.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian aview Of A Homestead von Conrad Martens kam im August 2008 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 40.800,00 (€ 23.816,92) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Conrad Martens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ausa Campbell'S Wharf im Mai 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 576.000,00 (€ 325.921,56).
