Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction The Ken and Rona Eastaugh Collection, which included the work Ausan Orton'S Basin, Neapean River by Conrad Martens. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 40,800.00 (€ 23,086.11), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Conrad Martens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ausa Campbell'S Wharf in May 2009 with an auction result of AUD 576,000.00 (€ 325,921.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion The Ken and Rona Eastaugh Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ausan Orton'S Basin, Neapean River von Conrad Martens zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 40.800,00 (€ 23.086,11) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Conrad Martens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ausa Campbell'S Wharf im Mai 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 576.000,00 (€ 325.921,56).
