This artwork by Conrad Marca-Relli achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May this year. In the A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part II auction, the work Y-M-33-58 sold for USD 315,000.00 (€ 295,663.60) - well above the upper estimate of USD 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Conrad Marca-Relli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work St. Cyprian's Day, which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 1,105,000.00 (€ 710,154.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Conrad Marca-Relli erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part II wurde die Arbeit Y-M-33-58 für USD 315.000,00 (€ 295.663,60) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 180.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Conrad Marca-Relli mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit St. Cyprian's Day beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für USD 1.105.000,00 (€ 710.154,24) versteigert wurde.
