In November 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work New York Pilot Boat Alexander M. Lawrence, No. 4 by Conrad Freitag for USD 5,100.00 (€ 4,268.50). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Conrad Freitag - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The pilot boat Washington #22 with steamships and a clipper ship in the distance, which sold at auction in January 2008 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 16,845.23).
