This artwork by Clyde Aspevig achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in October 2020. In the The Legend of the West: Iconic Works from the T. Boone Pickens Collection auction, the work Mesa Vista sold for USD 47,500.00 (€ 40,783.03) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Clyde Aspevig; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Mesa Vista Moon Rise sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of USD 62,500.00 (€ 53,661.89).
