Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Christies in London held the auction Modern British Art, which included the work Maltese Falcon by Clive Barker. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,583.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Clive Barker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Coke with Two Straws in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 49,348.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Maltese Falcon von Clive Barker zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.583,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Clive Barker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Coke with Two Straws im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 49.348,67).
