Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Penitents V by Clifton Pugh was sold in the Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II auction at Christies in Melbourne in April 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 41,825.00 (€ 25,156.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Clifton Pugh have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in April 2008 the work Australian A Feral Cat was auctioned for AUD 42,000.00 (€ 25,410.97).
