Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gravesend Reach From 'The Royal Clarendon' by Claude Grahame Muncaster was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in March 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 540.00 (€ 786.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Claude Grahame Muncaster - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Off Trinidad, which sold at auction in February 2019 for GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,333.07).

Die Arbeit Gravesend Reach From 'The Royal Clarendon' von Claude Grahame Muncaster wurde im März 2005 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 540,00 (€ 786,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Claude Grahame Muncaster mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Off Trinidad beobachtet, die im Februar 2019 für GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.333,07) versteigert wurde.
