The auction ended at the price of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 40,738.56), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude-Louis Châtelet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pyramid at the Château de Maupertuis in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 391,000.00 (€ 419,168.10).
