Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A river landscape with an artist sketching, a bridge beyond; and A river landscape with figures and fishing tackle, a bridge beyond by Claude-Louis Châtelet was sold in the Town & Country: A Private Collection auction at Sothebys in London in December 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 27,720.00 (€ 33,064.15) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude-Louis Châtelet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pyramid at the Château de Maupertuis in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 391,000.00 (€ 419,168.10).

Die Arbeit A river landscape with an artist sketching, a bridge beyond; and A river landscape with figures and fishing tackle, a bridge beyond von Claude-Louis Châtelet wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion Town & Country: A Private Collection bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 27.720,00 (€ 33.064,15) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude-Louis Châtelet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Pyramid at the Château de Maupertuis im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 391.000,00 (€ 419.168,10).
