The »bidding war« ended at AUD 12,925.00 (€ 7,242.80), 29% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Clarice Beckett achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Evening, (Beach Road, Beaumaris) in November last year with an auction result of AUD 172,200.00 (€ 112,047.60).

Die Arbeit Beaumaris Seascape von Clarice Beckett wurde im August 2002 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN & INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 12.925,00 (€ 7.242,80) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Clarice Beckett erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Evening, (Beach Road, Beaumaris) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 172.200,00 (€ 112.047,60).
