Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The pump; and The sleepy pair (one illustrated) by Clarence Lawson Wood was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in May 2014. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 812.50 (€ 998.59), 16% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Clarence Lawson Wood - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak", which sold at auction in December 2000 for GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,246.12).

Die Arbeit The pump; and The sleepy pair (one illustrated) von Clarence Lawson Wood wurde im Mai 2014 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 812,50 (€ 998,59) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Clarence Lawson Wood mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit "The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak" beobachtet, die im Dezember 2000 für GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.246,12) versteigert wurde.
