Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2014 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Oh you flirt! by Clarence Lawson Wood. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 812.50 (€ 998.59). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Clarence Lawson Wood - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak", which sold at auction in December 2000 for GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,246.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Oh you flirt! von Clarence Lawson Wood zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 812,50 (€ 998,59) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Clarence Lawson Wood mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit "The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak" beobachtet, die im Dezember 2000 für GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.246,12) versteigert wurde.
