Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Clarence Lawson Wood could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work An eye to a straight deal changed hands for GBP 375.00 (€ 460.89) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Clarence Lawson Wood have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work "The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak" in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,246.12).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Clarence Lawson Wood konnte im Mai 2014 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit An eye to a straight deal für GBP 375,00 (€ 460,89) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Clarence Lawson Wood auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit "The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak" im Dezember 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.246,12).
