Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2000 Christies in Los Angeles held the auction CALIFORNIA WESTERN&AMERICAN PAINTINGS DRAWINGS&SCULPTURE, which included the work House on the Cliff, Laguna Beach by Clarence Hinkle. The price achieved of USD 4,465.00 (€ 5,261.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Clarence Hinkle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 35,312.50 (€ 31,285.99).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.465,00 (€ 5.261,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden.
