The work The Speaker Talking by Clare Noel Shenstone was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in London in November 2021. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,295.00 (€ 2,694.55), 53% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Clare Noel Shenstone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wax Head of Francis Bacon in February 2006 with an auction result of GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,179.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Speaker Talking von Clare Noel Shenstone wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.295,00 (€ 2.694,55) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Clare Noel Shenstone auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wax Head of Francis Bacon im Februar 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.400,00 (€ 21.179,17).
