The price achieved of USD 605,000.00 (€ 535,872.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Clara Peeters - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Roses, Lilies, An Iris And Other Flowers In An Earthenware Vase, With A Pot Of Carnations And A Butterfly On A Ledge, which sold at auction in June last year for USD 1,500,000.00 (€ 1,432,801.60).
