This artwork by Clara Peeters achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in April 2008. In the Old Master Paintings Sale auction, the work A Still Life With Fish In A Ceramic Colander, Oysters, Langoustines, Mackerel And A Cat On The Ledge Beneath sold for GBP 82,100.00 (€ 104,665.90) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Clara Peeters achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses, Lilies, An Iris And Other Flowers In An Earthenware Vase, With A Pot Of Carnations And A Butterfly On A Ledge in June last year with an auction result of USD 1,500,000.00 (€ 1,432,801.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Clara Peeters erzielte im April 2008 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings Sale wurde die Arbeit A Still Life With Fish In A Ceramic Colander, Oysters, Langoustines, Mackerel And A Cat On The Ledge Beneath für GBP 82.100,00 (€ 104.665,90) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Clara Peeters erzielen.
