Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art, which included the work Violet Source, 1975 by Claire Falkenstein. The price achieved of USD 22,950.00 (€ 21,780.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Claire Falkenstein have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled, Circa 1971 in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 200,075.00 (€ 179,455.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Violet Source, 1975 von Claire Falkenstein zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 22.950,00 (€ 21.780,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Claire Falkenstein auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled, Circa 1971 im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 200.075,00 (€ 179.455,56).
