In December 2019 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Contemporary Art & Editions Online, which included the work Structure and Flow, circa 1965 by Claire Falkenstein. The »bidding war« ended at USD 20,075.00 (€ 17,881.00), 34% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claire Falkenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled, Circa 1971 in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 200,075.00 (€ 179,455.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2019 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Contemporary Art & Editions Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Structure and Flow, circa 1965 von Claire Falkenstein zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 20.075,00 (€ 17.881,00) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claire Falkenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled, Circa 1971 im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 200.075,00 (€ 179.455,56).
