Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 137,500.00 (€ 123,329.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cildo Meireles have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rodos in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 641,000.00 (€ 583,045.30).

Die Arbeit Metros Ii 9B von Cildo Meireles kam im Mai 2019 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 123.329,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cildo Meireles auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rodos im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 641.000,00 (€ 583.045,30).
