Sold at the upper estimate price
The work SOUND by Chung Doo-Hwa was sold in the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. The auction ended at the price of HKD 60,000.00 (€ 6,851.19), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 45,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chung Doo-Hwa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Reverberation, which sold at auction in May 2015 for HKD 200,000.00 (€ 23,467.35).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit SOUND von Chung Doo-Hwa wurde im Mai 2017 in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 60.000,00 (€ 6.851,19) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 45.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Chung Doo-Hwa mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Reverberation beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für HKD 200.000,00 (€ 23.467,35) versteigert wurde.
