Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Mother and Child by Chuah Thean Teng was sold in the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 81,250.00 (€ 8,747.79), 16% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Chuah Thean Teng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gotong Royong in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 325,000.00 (€ 37,563.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Mother and Child von Chuah Thean Teng wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 81.250,00 (€ 8.747,79) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chuah Thean Teng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gotong Royong im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 325.000,00 (€ 37.563,99).
