The work Gotong Royong by Chuah Thean Teng was sold in the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2016. It achieved a price of HKD 325,000.00 (€ 37,563.99), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. With this result, Gotong Royong is even the most expensive work of art by Chuah Thean Teng that we have observed at auctions so far.
