Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Flute Player Under The Moon by Chuah Thean Teng was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016. The price achieved of HKD 50,000.00 (€ 5,883.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Chuah Thean Teng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gotong Royong in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 325,000.00 (€ 37,563.99).

Die Arbeit A Flute Player Under The Moon von Chuah Thean Teng wurde im Oktober 2016 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 50.000,00 (€ 5.883,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chuah Thean Teng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gotong Royong im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 325.000,00 (€ 37.563,99).
