Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
The work Calligraphy –Live Happily by Chua Lam was worth HKD 68,750.00 (€ 7,267.41) to a buyer in May 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 10,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Chua Lam; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy in Running Script sold at auction in March last year with the realized price of HKD 100,800.00 (€ 11,603.86).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy –Live Happily von Chua Lam war einem Käufer im Mai 2021 HKD 68.750,00 (€ 7.267,41) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 10.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Chua Lam; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script im März letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 100.800,00 (€ 11.603,86).
