The work Calligraphy - Another Year of Yearning by Chua Lam was sold in the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online including the Collection of Sun Ah Book Center auction at Christies in December 2021. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 13,750.00 (€ 1,557.47), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Chua Lam have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in Running Script in March last year with an auction result of HKD 100,800.00 (€ 11,603.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy - Another Year of Yearning von Chua Lam wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online including the Collection of Sun Ah Book Center bei Christies versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 13.750,00 (€ 1.557,47) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chua Lam auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 100.800,00 (€ 11.603,86).
